3-5pm            Open Nature Center – Learn about wetlands and watersheds at the Nature Center and create your own dragonfly.

5-6pm             Kids Bingo – Bring a full sized candy bar to the activity center.

3-4pm              Water Volley Ball - Meet at the water volleyball net at the beach to play volley ball!      

Fri, July 13

10am-noon    Passport to Fishing - Learn how to fish at this introductory course that will cover casting, fishing

knots and rigging, fish habitat and handling, and local information. For ages 5-15. First time participants will receive a rod and reel, and tackle box and everyone is encouraged to go fishing in Tappan Lake as part of the event. Rods and reels are provided by ODNR Division of Wildlife. Meet at the activity center. Parent must sign waiver for each participant; adult participation is encouraged. Preregistration is required; space is limited. Register online at www.tappanlakeohio.org under events.

 4-6pm            Free Kayak Try-it- The FREE Kayak Try-it is perfect for families or people who have never been in a kayak! Participants will receive a short introduction onshore, then try single or double kayaks near the shoreline for short periods of time.  Staff is on hand to assist and participants may be able to try different types of kayaks.  Meet at the beach area to sign-up for a time slot, first-come first-served. Completed waiver required for all participants, legal guardians must sign for minors.  Maximum weight capacity is 375 lbs for solo kayak and 500 lbs for tandem kayak. 

7:30-8:30pm  Adult Special BINGO - Bring a $2 gift to the Activity Center. Ages 18 and over. Sponsored by Stewarts RV

Sat, July 14

8-9am             Mornings are for the Birds!! - Free coffee, tea, and pastries, as we observe the wildlife at the Nature Center and learn about the bird of the week!         

10am-noon    Explorers of Nature - Let’s Get Buggy - For kids ages 4 to 15 to discover nature! This week discover the creepy crawly world of insects and how they are important to the balance of nature!  Earn a limited edition prize for attending three Explorers of Nature programs during the season. Pre-registration is required TappanLakeOhio.org, or at Registration office.  $5 per participant or $30 for all 8 sessions through August!  Meet at the Nature Center.

1-3pm              Watershed Exploration - Join the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District as we learn about watersheds through hands on discovery in the Activity Center. Learn how water flows over a watershed, how pollutants can contaminate a watershed, and how streams flow and change over time.

4:30-6:30        Wetland Pontoon Tour - Discover the wetlands at Tappan Lake, enjoy a pontoon ride with our Naturalist. Pre-Register at the Registration office, cost is $10 per person and a signed waiver is required. Please arrive at the boatshed 15 minutes before your departure time. Departure times are 4:30pm and 5:30pm.

9-11pm           Movie at the Lake – Drive over to the beach parking lot on your golf cart or vehicle, or bring you blankets and lawn chairs to watch the movie on the big screen! Free popcorn will be provided. Cans of pop will be $.50 each. 

Sun, July 15

9-10am             Non-denominational Church Service - at the amphitheater or camp shelter in case of rain.

10:30-11:30am Water Dodgeball - Meet at the basketball courts to play water dodgeball.

2-6pm   Hike to Buckeye Trail Association Barn - Meet the Naturalist at the beach parking lot to hike the Turkey Trail to the Buckeye Trail Association Barn. Free hotdogs and refreshments will be provided at the barn by the Buckeye Trail Association! There will be a shuttle provided for people who do not wish to hike back to the campgrounds. This is a family friendly hike, and pets are welcome.
