Tappan Marina Open House is Saturday, October 9
The nearly $6 million renovation to the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District’s (MWCD) Tappan Lake Marina and Restaurant is complete! The community is invited to tour the facility, located at 33315 Cadiz-Dennison Rd., Scio, Ohio 43988 on Saturday, October 9 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tappan Lake draws anglers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia among other states and boating clubs and private groups host more than 100 fishing tournaments from April through October. The marina offers pontoon and fishing boat rentals, boating supplies, gifts, bait and tackle, fuel sales, snacks, docking rentals, restrooms, and showers all under one roof.
“We are currently moving into the marina offices on the lower level of the building and are setting up the retail area and getting transitioned into our new office space,” said Jeremy Hoffer, Tappan Lake Marina Manager. “This new building is not only beautiful, but the space will allow the marina staff to better serve our guests.”
The marina will carry limited bait for the remainder of the 2021 boating season, night crawlers and wax worms. An expanded bait selection including minnows will be available in the spring. The marina also sells boat licenses, fishing licenses, and boat rentals.
Guests can access the marina from the parking lot off of US Route 250 and utilizing an elevator or stairs to the lower level where marina operations are located. Hours through October 15, 2021, are Sunday – Thursday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Friday – Saturday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Due to the construction delays the restaurant will open next spring. The space will be available from October through February for private, catered events such as holiday parties, baby showers, or wedding receptions. For more information, please call 330-556-4838.
